Our Story
Storytelling is human. Stories are among our earliest human experiences. Parents soothe, teach, and connect with their children through narrative long before language fully forms. That instinct doesn't leave us. We carry stories with us to build communities, develop relationships, and make sense of the world we share. In a world that moves fast and measures everything, stories remind us to slow down. They remind us to stop and consider the individual, the moment, the places and people where real change happens.
That's the foundation of Humanly Told.
For professionals, storytelling is a bridge. A bridge between your technical expertise and the people you serve, between data and lived experience, between what you build and why it matters. We all relate to a story, even when we don't understand the complexity of the work behind it.
I came to this work through a winding path. In my early twenties, freshly graduated and uncertain where I'd land, I traveled with my mom to a storytelling conference in Minneapolis. We had a shared love of stories — the narrative, the voice, and the way a well-told story could open something in a room. That weekend I encountered storytelling in healthcare, in education, and in trauma recovery. I didn't know yet how it would fit into my professional life. I just knew it would.
It did. I built a career as a mental health researcher, integrating storytelling as a way to complement data and honor the lived experiences of the people whose lives shape the research. Story became the bridge between evidence and people.
Humanly Told grew from that conviction. Through training, consulting, and workshops, we work with healthcare organizations, corporate teams, professionals, and individuals to find the stories already embedded in their work and lives, then intentionally build the connections those stories make possible.
Whether you're a healthcare organization building staff connection, a professional navigating a career transition, or an individual with a story ready to be told — Humanly Told meets you where you are.
Find the Story. Build Connections.
